MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

ABOUT DEPARTMENT

Mechanical Engineering department has been established in 1984, approved by AICTE New Delhi, Government of Maharashtra and Institute of Engineers (India). The department is accredited by national Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2002 and Graded ‘A’ by Government of Maharashtra. The department has organized National Conference e-Time-2004; Short Term Training Programme’s on Finite Element Analysis and its Application-Dec.-2004;Advances and Practices in Maintenance and Safety Engineering-April-2004;Industry-Institute-Interaction-April-2003. The department has highly qualified staff with industrial experience. Department provides additional training to our students on CAD/CAM, CNC-Trainer and other areas. Department undertakes R&D activities, consultancy assignments and Prof.A.V.Vanalkar has applied for patient of ‘Stirrup Making Machine’. The students of the department also excel in the University and secure merit ranks every year. The head of the department is Prof. C.C.Handa. The Central workshop has a separate building Fitting Shop, carpentry Shop, welding Shop, smithy Shop, foundry Shop and machine Shop. It is fully equipped with machines, which ranges from conventional engine lathe to contemporary CNC machine
